On Saturday, 30 November, the Masvingo South Deanery Choir showcased their musical prowess at the St Cecilia Choral Music Competitions, held at the Heritage Village in Harare. Competing against 34 choirs from across Zimbabwe, the choir delivered an outstanding performance, climbing to 12th place—an impressive improvement from last year’s 17th position.
The choir entered the stage as the 3rd performing group and immediately captivated the audience with their synchronized vocals and elegant presentation. The St Cecilia Choral Music Competitions continue to be a highlight for Catholic choirs nationwide, celebrating the patron saint of music and fostering a deep sense of community and devotion. The Masvingo South Deanery Choir’s success is a testament to their dedication and continuous growth in the choral music scene.
With this year’s improved ranking, the choir has set the stage for even greater achievements in the future, as they inspire and uplift the community through their passion for music.
