Overview
The Languages Area at Bondolfi Teachers’ College is a vibrant and essential component of our educational framework, reflecting our commitment to linguistic diversity and effective communication. This department is responsible for equipping student teachers with the skills and expertise needed to teach languages effectively, including Shona, English, and other indigenous languages like Ndebele and Shangani.
The Languages Area is dedicated to producing highly proficient and culturally sensitive language educators. We believe that language is not only a means of communication but also a bridge that connects individuals across cultures and communities. Our student teachers graduate with the knowledge and skills to inspire a love for languages and literature while celebrating the rich linguistic diversity of Zimbabwe.

English
The component is designed for a post ‘O’ Level three-year, primary Teacher Education programme. The course is intended to develop and extend the language competence and performance in English that enhance the professional growth of the student as a teacher of language The course is covered in three phases as follows: the first 3 residential terms, 3 terms of teaching practice and the final 3 residential terms.
